Clos de Vignes du Maynes is celebrating 70 years of trailblazing organic winemaking!
With roots going all the way back to 910 AD, when it was originally farmed by monks, this historic estate in Cruzille, Burgundy, was transformed in 1954 when Pierre and Jeanne Guillot took the bold step of farming without chemicals—long before "organic" was a trend.
Their vision has been carried forward by their son Alain, a champion of organic agriculture in France, and since 2001 by grandson Julien, who converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic practices.
To mark this incredible milestone, Clos de Vignes du Maynes hosted a vibrant festival packed with live music, performances, plus exclusive cave tours where guests experienced a one-of-a-kind soundscape made from recordings of the vineyard’s vinification process throughout the year.
Guests savored mouthwatering food while exploring an art exhibition called ‘Trash Art’ where talented artists turned the domaine’s waste products into stunning masterpieces. It was a celebration of history, creativity, and the sustainable spirit that defines the estate.
