The domain The Plageoles estate has been in operation since 1805. The phylloxera has only scratched the surface. Its deep clay-limestone soils have enabled the vines to resist the devastating effects of the terrible grapevine disease. Today it consists of two farms: the Très Cantous estate, in the town of Cahuzac sur Vère, a family property, and the Roucou-Cantemerle estate, in the town of Castelnau de Montmiral. The entire estate is now 30 ha. The Gaillac vineyard Located in the north of the Tarn department, the Gaillac appellation area covers 2,500 hectares spread over 73 municipalities. Today, the appellation brings together around a hundred private cellars and three cooperative cellars. The variety of soils (three in number), the age of the vineyard and its climatic diversity allow Gaillac to present a varied and traditional grape variety. Thus, this diversity of the Gaillac vineyard is reflected in a wide variety of elaborated wines which make up a multiple range of dry, sweet and pearl white wines, red and rosé wines, sparkling.

Le Domaine

Le domaine Plageoles est exploité depuis 1805. Le phylloxéra n'a fait que l'effleurer. Ses sols argilo-calcaire profonds ont permis aux  vignes de résister aux effets dévastateurs de la terrible maladie de la vigne.
 
Il se compose aujourd'hui de deux exploitations : le domaine des Très Cantous, sur la commune de Cahuzac sur Vère, propriété familiale et le domaine de Roucou-Cantemerle, sur la commune de Castelnau de Montmiral. La totalité du domaine est aujourd'hui de 30 ha.

Le vignoble de Gaillac

Situé dans le nord du département du Tarn, l'aire d'Appellation Gaillac couvre 2 500 hectares répartis sur 73 communes.
 
Aujourd'hui, l'Appellation regroupe une centaine de caves particulières et trois caves coopératives.
 
La variété des terroirs (au nombre de trois), l'ancienneté du vignoble et sa diversité climatique permettent à Gaillac de présenter un encépagement varié et traditionnel. Ainsi, cette diversité du vignoble gaillacois se traduit par une grande variété de vins élaborés qui composent une gamme multiple de vins blancs secs, doux et perlés, de vins rouges et rosés, d'effervescents.
