Tenute Dettori is exclusively owned by the Dettori family and is not part of any corporate group. There are no sales managers, agronomic, oenological, or marketing consultants. The sole professional agricultural entrepreneur is Alessandro Dettori.
We were the first in Sardinia to produce natural wines and to apply biodynamic principles to our vineyards. These choices were made when they were neither a fad nor a trend, but a direct consequence of our understanding of agriculture and wine. In 2003, the natural wine movement was officially born in Italy: we were there, at the personal invitation of our friend and maestro Luigi Veronelli.
Romangia is the birthplace of Cannanu . One of Sardinia's oldest wine-growing regions: vines have been cultivated here for millennia, dating back to the Nuragic era, and for centuries its wines have been known and traded well beyond the island's borders. Our vineyards are located in Badde Nigolosu, in the Sennori district, on hills rising up to 250 meters and overlooking the Gulf of Asinara: a valley our family has cultivated for four generations.
On our labels, under "ingredients, additives, and additives," you'll find just one word: grapes. It's the most honest summary of our approach.
We are winemakers: we make wine exclusively from the grapes we grow in our vineyards. For us, this is a significant distinction, because wine begins with the land and the choices made in the fields, not in the cellar.
Our wines are artisanal, an expression of this age-old tradition, which we interpret by cultivating exclusively native Romangia grape varieties—Retagliadu Nieddu, Monica di Sorso, Pascale, Moscato di Sennori—with as little intervention as possible.
Alongside production, we also offer wine tourism: we welcome anyone who wants to learn more about our work at the estate, and accompany tastings with family-run dishes , prepared according to traditional recipes.
