Son and daughter of winemakers, Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer created the estate in 1997. Time passed and the desires with, Philippe had desires for elsewhere and a new start. Sophie, still full of carelessness, took up the torch alone first, then, in 2010, accompanied by Julien Albertus. This young winemaker arrived at the estate, brimming with ideas and convictions. Under his leadership, the vines went organic ... logical, and logical consequence, the wines were produced naturally. We do not use mineral fertilizers or chemical plant protection products. We encourage life in our soils through weed cover present all year round. It can be natural or chosen through plants that have agronomic interests (legumes, cereals, crucifers ...). Organic certification, from which we benefit, imposes rules in the cellar that we do not find restrictive enough. This mention does not know any legal existence for the moment, but a consensus exists in the profession: the grape must be cultivated at least according to the principles of organic farming, harvested by hand, and no adjuvant must be used during vinification with the exception of sulfur in very low doses (30mg / l for the reds and 40mg / l for the whites). This results in wines with different aromas, often complex and singular (more adjectives) which can also be cloudy, because not filtered, or slightly gaseous, due to the CO2 present in the bottle and which escapes the opening.
