Viticulture was a passion shared for several generations in each of Frédéric's parents' families: Bernadette Meyer and Jérôme Geschickt, each from the same village: Ammerschwihr.
The grapes were sold to merchants like all the winegrowers in the village where there has never been a cooperative. One of the first to bottle his wine was Jérôme Meyer, Bernadette's father, around 1950, in the house that we have invested in today.
Little by little, the farm grew with new land and the purchase of the Meyer house in 1975 where they settled.
The two boys joined their parents in the business, Christophe in 1981, Frédéric in 1992. Although officially retired respectively in 1990 and 1994, Jérôme and Bernadette remained very active within the company for many more years. The death of Christophe in December 2002 imposed on everyone a new look, a new organization. Arnaud, Christophe's son joined Frédéric in 2016.
Today Frédéric and Arnaud pursue this profession which fascinates them with the help of Aurélie. The structure, since 1987 in the form of GAEC, has become EARL. The cultivated area is now 12 hectares.
Since 1998, we have chosen a biodynamic cultivation method. This reconversion, following a long period of conventional culture, responded to a need, to a search for a better life. The so-called conventional culture, with the products it uses in particular, no longer corresponded to the state of mind in which we operate.
