It was a suggestion I got in my quest to find very expressive and memorable bottles there. And this is really one of those, it stands out. This wine directly introduces with an expressive, rich and intense nose power. It keeps bursting out of the glass (even when it is empty) with forward, appealing, slightly oxidative tones of: Concentrated dried fruits like apricots, apples and raisins with oaky wood elements like walnuts, cloves and some vanilla with a touch of herbal honey. But there is also freshness to it with nice fruity sour prunes and tropical hints of things like papaya and melon. In strength it makes me think a bit of the wonderful Durrmann - Zegwur (also Gewürztraminer), but with some more depth and complexity. Like it would also play well with the more oxidative Hausherr wines. Sweetness: dry, Acidity: medium+, Tannin: low, Body: medium+, Finish: medium+. Rating: 😣 [* * * * * * * ⭐ * *] 😁 Tech facts: " No temperature control. Demeter certified. Total Sulphites: ~18 mg/L. Unfined. Unfiltered. No added sulphites. The Gewürztraminer was aged for 18 months in a large oak Foudre vat and was blended with a bit of Riesling " About Domaine Geschickt: " Since 1998 we have chosen a biodynamic culture. This reconversion after a long period of conventional culture is in reply to a need to live better. Conventional culture with the products required did not correspond to the spirit in which we wished to evolve. Since 2012 we make natural wines (without sulphites). We aim to share with you the best that the ‘terroir’ of Alsace, it’s rich history and knowledge can offer. "
