At times the wine world is a trail of good people recommending other good people (a blessing from that cutthroat business world). Our friend Dani Rozman of La Onda Wines up in Berkeley recently hired on Francesca to help with harvest and winemaking. “You realize this work is hard right? Are you prepared? This isn’t for everyone.” These are some of the quotes we were laughing about as we got to know Francesca on a sunny (rare) day outside the shop sipping her first release of ‘Chefs’s Kiss’ 2021. Francesca is a ray of sunshine which we feel truly translates to her wine. This is a Chenin Blanc from trusted vines but made in a way that sits you down and entices you to drink more. In Francesca’s words: “This wine has a little something for everyone, it's approachable for the inexperienced drinker but filled with curiosities for the more advanced palette. Chef's Kiss is clean and linear with notes of green apple and meyer lemon zest. A refreshing beverage for a hot day in the sun paired with fish tacos and getting pitted in the green room.
