Spectacular orange wine. Very hard to describe its bose: salty, mineral butter notes, nutmeg, bayleaf, fig leaves. I can keep sniffing this wine for hours but can't quite put my finger on it. But it's absolutely amazing. Its salinity gives it a wonderful juicyness, which makes your forget its quite strong at 13% alcohol. Light tannins that give it a very fine structure. I'm sure it's still way too young to show its full potential, but I'm very glad I'm drinking it :-) "Terroir de moraines glaciaires, à 400m d’altitude au lieu-dit « Grosse Pierre » à Lhuis. Macération d’Altesses égrappées, pendant un mois. Élevage de 11 mois en fûts. Non filtré. Volume total de la cuvée : 8,5 hl (1100 bouteilles )"
Wonderful orange wine from Bugey. Chardonnay, whole bunch maceration during one month, then élevage in cuve on the lees for 11 months. Unfiltered, no added sulfites. Great concentration, fraicheur, serious mineral aroma with fleshyness and a hint of honey. Easy to drink, well structured but not overly tannic. Nice length. I like this wine very much. Its a pity that only 200 bottles were made, would love to drink this more often!
