Have you noticed? Everywhere, our city centers are starting to look identical... The same chains can be found in every city center, for example, Starbucks, McDonald's, H&M, Zara, Sephora, Uniqlo...
This is the typical layout of a medium-sized or large city center. It’s a copy/paste, repeat; from city to city, all the time. It's predictable and a little boring. These aren't really city centers anymore: they're open-air shopping malls.
Fortunately, all over the world, there are still shops that cannot be found anywhere else: bars, wine cellars, restaurants, hotels, bookshops, record stores, bakeries, butchers, cheese shops, fishmongers, etc. Unique and local places. Places that offer something different. Taste, authenticity, expertise, care for ingredients, friendliness. Quite simply, a taste of real life!
Whenever you choose a local, independent business, you're doing more than making a purchase; you’re making an impact. They're the ones holding our neighborhoods interesting, authentic, and alive.
