The wine list was extensive however, some what overpriced compared with what I’m used to paying for a central London location. The same could be said for the food. We visited on a Friday night at around 9:45pm. The restaurant is small but cosy. The tables are very close to each other, not great if you want to have a private conversation. It almost feels claustrophobic. The worst part about the experience was the staff. They had no intention of helping us choose a wine or making us feel at home. We finished our first bottle and where interested in another, but a 30 min wait to be noticed ensured we headed somewhere else for our next drink. The place was busy but not every table was in use. There are many small, busy restaurants in London that deal with a large volume of customers and still manage to make everyone feel at home and make them want to spend money. I’m afraid the same can’t be said for Lady Of The Grapes. Such a shame, I really wanted to like this place.
