Granit Wine Cellar and Bar in Clisson (next to Nantes), France opened on December 3, 2019.
Sommelier Pierre, who manages the bar, traveled all over France, working in Michelin-starred restaurants and he wanted to create a team of epicureans and offer a selection of the natural wine that he had discovered over the past 10 years.
Behind the Granit cellar there's also Elmira, a spirited sommelier and wine merchant and the cabinet makers, Jean-Louis and Fred, aka Tic et Tac the owners, who showcase their talent by creating the wooden shelves that propose and create ergonomics with so many bottles in such a small space. They are closely connected to wine too, they took over their grandfather's old body shop, which stands in the middle of the vineyards. @conceptEbenist
Granit is both a neighborhood cellar and a magnificent terrace with an Italian flavor. The cellar offers a chance to enter "au naturel" and discover a small room filled with around 250 bottles of wine, including some rare finds. The furniture is movable, and guests can congregate around the large central table to discuss life - and, of course, grapes!
The terrace is lively and reminiscent of a guinguette, with cooks and musicians invited weekly to add to the festivities.
Lastly, there's an unusual "library shelf" filled with tasty bottles. Once uncovered, it slides open to reveal a small staircase leading to a wine bistro where grape juice flows freely alongside well-chosen tapas and cheese boards.
