Franchina e Giarone

Franchina and Giarone are the two farms that give life to Luca Pizzetti's agricultural project. The vineyards, conducted in organic farming, are located among the first hills of Modena. The vineyard area of about 6 hectares is made up of older vines, between 15 and 45 years of Lambrusco and Trebbiano, and of young vines planted after a mass selection of local grapes: Trebbiano Modenese Trebbiano di Spagna, Lambruschi, Sgavetta, Negretto, Tosca grapes and Festasio. After some experiences with other winemakers, the first harvest of Franchina and Giarone was that of 2020. Most of the production is made up of refermented wines in the bottle, and a small part of the grapes are destined for the vinification of still wines.
