Installed; in the commune of Vesdun (in the Châteaumeillant appellation area) in the Cher department, I gradually replanted a vineyard of approximately 3 hectares today at from abandoned vines.
Implanté in Marche, a bocage region on the borders of Berry and Bourbonnais my project consisted of safeguard viticulture in this region where the vine held a very important place until the beginning of the 20th century.
My vineyard located in à the extreme north of the central massif, is planted with on schist soils where Gamay, Pinot Noir, Kneeillet (a Berry grape variety that almost disappeared) are grown for black grapes, as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon for white grapes. These vines have been cultivated organically since my installation in 2007. The soils are worked three times during the season, always leaving a little room for growth. the natural vegetation and the vines are grazed in winter by sheep in order to provide the nitrogen necessary for the production of grapes. fermentation of wines.
The grapes are harvested at hand then vinified naturally to give four to one five vintages of white, rosé; (said gray) and red. Vinification in fiber or stainless steel vats to let the grapes express themselves without adding wood. Only a minimal dose of sulphites is possibly added in order to protect the wines from oxidation with doses between 0 and 40mg/liter of total SO2 after bottling.
