At Mas de la Bégude, the grape is the child king, the vine the queen mother, the winemaker is a shepherd, he accompanies. I try to reconcile my life and my philosophy with my work while respecting nature and the personal interest that I have offered myself. First of all, love nature, however capricious it may be, however generous it may be! And somehow always fill us up. If the man has talent, he will develop a product in his image, his knowledge, he will demonstrate his ability to understand phenomena, to appropriate them and therefore to be honored. The guide takes a lot of risk, he needs to have knowledge, and not to be a prisoner of it. He has a work objective and yet he must agree to modify it according to the circumstances. Curiously, the accompanist will need experience, a lot of intuition, even a good dose of serenity, an ability to accept since he is in charge, so he intervenes in some ways. The winemaker asks the vineyard (through his work and his relationship with it) for grapes, not just any grape, for beautiful grapes to make wine. First step: there must be a match between the demand formulated and the capacity of the plant to produce. The vine is able by its behavior to send us a clear message in relation to our request; with wine, it's the same relationship. If this support is successful, this product is a natural product. In natural, there is nature. The dimension of nature is immense compared to the human dimension. The key is there: putting this dimension of nature in the mouth of humans. If successful: smile, light mood there is, and lots of good things there will be.

Au Mas de la Bégude, le raisin est l’enfant roi, la vigne la reine mère, le vigneron est un berger, il accompagne. J’essaie de concilier ma vie et ma philosophie à mon travail dans un respect de la nature et l’intérêt personnel que je me suis proposé. En premier lieu, aimer la nature, aussi capricieuse puisse-t-elle être, aussi généreuse elle peut-être ! Et d’une certaine façon toujours nous combler. Alors, ramassons le raisin à la main pour le protéger, posons le dans les caisses, foulons le aux pieds, encuvons le à la main. Dans la mesure où le raisin est sain : pas de S02, pas de sucre, rien que du raisin. Quel est l’intérêt de ce processus ? Il oblige le vigneron à être accompagnateur et non transformateur. Le transformateur, lui, est déjà un homme de savoir, il utilise des outils, des produits qui vont canaliser le raisin dans un but bien précis qu’il s’est fixé. Si l’homme a du talent, il élaborera un produit à son image, son savoir, il démontrera sa capacité à comprendre des phénomènes, de se les appropriés et donc d’être honoré. L’accompagnateur, prend beaucoup de risque, il lui est nécessaire de posséder un savoir, et de ne pas être prisonnier de celui-ci. Il a un objectif de travail et pourtant il doit accepter de le modifier en fonction des circonstances. Curieusement, l’accompagnateur aura besoin d’expérience, de beaucoup d’intuition, voire une bonne dose de sérénité, une capacité d’acceptation puisqu’il dirige, donc intervient en quelques sortes. Le vigneron demande à la vigne (par son travail et son rapport avec elle) du raisin, pas n’importe quel raisin, du beau raisin pour faire du vin. Première étape : il faut une adéquation entre la demande formulée et la capacité de la plante à produire. La vigne est capable par son comportement de nous envoyer un message clair par rapport à notre demande ; avec le vin, c’est le même rapport. S’il réussit cet accompagnement, ce produit est un produit naturel. Dans naturel, il y a nature. La dimension de la nature est immense par rapport à la dimension humaine. La clef est là : mettre cette dimension de la nature dans la bouche de l’humain. Si réussite : sourire, humeur légère il y a, et plein de bonnes choses il y aura.
