About
Stiolo takes its name from the "Stiolo" site in the middle of the Emilian lowlands not far from Modena. The Lambrusco great "Gabriele Ronzoni" produced here one of the very best wines ever by using traditional grape varieties and vinification techniques. When the work became too burdensome for him in his old age, he searched for a long time for a successor for this plot who would continue to cultivate it in his spirit. Gianluca Bergianti did not have to be told twice and took over the helm. For here grows, in addition to Ancellotta and Sorbara, the almost extinct grape variety Uva Oliva, which he wanted to preserve at all costs. The Stiolo is a wild, dark Lambrusco with aromas of olives, earth and some iron. On the palate it is immensely invigorating with plenty of draw and a long finish. Second fermentation takes place in the bottle and disgorgement is traditionally not done, resulting in a slight cloudiness. This is quite great cinema and an experience that every wine lover should make once!
