Raisin began as a simple idea, inspired by a love of natural wine and a quest to help people find places in Paris to drink it.

Before the app, it was just a humble blog, founded in 2010, with just 250 recommended venues. It started as a map of Paris and soon expanded to New York and London.

It wasn’t however until the 8th of April, 2016 that the app was launched, and just two months later it had achieved its first 5000 downloads!

As the natural wine movement grew, Raisin did too, referencing the best places to eat and drink worldwide that were committed to selling natural wine. Focusing on venues that sold a minimum 30% natural wine and the winemakers (the true heroes) who make it.

Fast forward to 2023 and we are now so proud to announce that we have more than 6,000 referenced venues worldwide and over 287,000 downloads of the app.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the winemakers, venues and each and everyone of you for supporting us on this journey. We still feel there is a lot of work to do and this year will be bigger than ever for us. But it’s always good to take a moment to remember how it all began.
