Grapes are from certified organic vineyards, except our Gewurztraminer which is from a practicing organic vineyard that we are working with to help them get their organic certification. A cause that we’re very excited to pursue and to use our purchasing to help drive that conversion. We hand harvest, another process we champion because of the work it creates for migrant labor in California, as well as, minimizes the need for heavy machinery anywhere in our production. Something we particularly focus on is interesting and new red / white co-ferments as well as semi carbonic macerations. The ethos of our winery is to make wines in the style that our friends enjoy – light, experimental, fruit forward and made with a high level of intentionality. Every decision from fruit choice to vinification to the design of each label is a unified process and about sharing an experience with you. A pure example of this is our Jajaja – it is a wine inspired by an evening where we sat for an early dinner and all we did was laugh while having a semi-carbonic red. Jajaja is an attempt to bottle up that experience and share it with you – our semi-carbonic Zinfandel / Gewurztraminer co-ferment.
