As Kerasus Wine, our journey aims to rediscover forgotten grape varieties and winemaking techniques in Turkey. Kerasus doesn't own any vineyards nor does it lease any. We gather our grapes from nature, from their natural habitats. This system is called "married vine" or "agroforestry vine," with a historical origin dating back to the Etruscans. These grapes grow wrapped around trees in the forests, remaining hidden and undiscovered. We make wines from these secret and untouched grapes using a natural, sulfur-free, wild fermentation process. During the winemaking, we refrain from any intervention, following the philosophy that the grape in the bottle should reflect its natural state in nature. The wine decides when it will spoil or turn into wine; we don't interfere in any way. We only listen to the grapes during the winemaking process and handle them appropriately. Consequently, we hand-pick the grapes, climbing up the trees to reach them. No intervention is made throughout the process.
