Antonio Madeira's Os Granitos Tinto is a product of meticulous viticulture in the Dão region. The wine's namesake, "granite," is a direct reference to the vineyard's soil composition, where the grapes draw their distinctive mineral character. This particular plot, considered a "grand cru" of the Serra da Estrela, boasts a complex blend of over 20 indigenous grape varieties, with Tinta Amarela, Baga, and Jaen taking center stage. The vineyard's elevated position and exposure to the elements contribute to the grapes' unique expression. A commitment to sustainable practices, including manual harvesting and minimal intervention, is evident in the wine's purity and complexity.
