Caviste
Duckman's Kite Duck is a beguiling natural white wine that blurs the lines between white and orange. Hailing from Bairrada, this unique blend utilizes grapes from over 30-year-old vines on diverse soils - clay-limestone for the Baga and sandy soils for the Maria Gomes. Hand-harvested in early September, the Maria Gomes undergoes five days of skin contact before joining the Baga, creating a "blanc de noirs" style. Spontaneous fermentation occurs for two weeks in stainless steel tanks utilizing natural yeasts and ambient temperatures. The wine then ages for six months in large 650-liter French oak barrels before bottling, remaining unfiltered and suitable for vegans. This innovative approach results in a captivating wine with the potential to surprise and delight.
