Kouki Oyamada, CEO of the Peisana Agricultural Association, was born in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture. He discovered his passion for wine while studying German literature at Chuo University. In 1998, he joined Lumiere Co., Ltd. in Yamanashi Prefecture, working for 16 years in vineyard cultivation and winemaking.
In 2014, he founded Domaine Oyamada, managing about 3 hectares of vineyards and producing wines that reflect his philosophy of the “promotion of peasant art”: nurturing grapes carefully and avoiding unnecessary interference in the wine.
Influenced by Yutaka Ozaki, Haruki Murakami, and Japanese literature from the Meiji to Showa eras, he is a hands-on winemaker who takes pride in working from the ground up, with a passion for both wine and life.
