Pierasco Farm - Sofia Casarin

Azienda Agricola Pierasco is an artisanal winery in Zero Branco (TV), born from a deep passion for biology and founded on the principles of environmental sustainability. The estate's land is home to carefully cultivated ancient vineyards of local varieties, which give rise to our natural wines. Alongside the vineyards, the ecosystem is protected and enriched by a vast biodiversity: wild flora and fauna coexist alongside vegetables, fruit, bees, hops, barley, and flowers! The wine is created through spontaneous fermentations, without chemical additives, following rural traditions and, in terms of cellar practices, lunar rhythms. The winery's goal is to explore the agricultural practices of the past, analyzing them from a scientific perspective, thus combining tradition and innovation.

During her master's thesis in Plant Biology and then her PhD in Genetics and Pathology of the Grapevine, Sofia studied the vineyards on her family's land, discovering an incredible heritage of centuries-old vines and almost extinct local varieties. She then decided, with her partner Giancarlo, a specialist in
Environmental Economics, to open a farm with a cellar open to the public to showcase the wines they produce according to their philosophy. No additives are used in the cellar to manage the winemaking process, precisely because each bottle must be a representation of the variety and the growing season it has.
