15 years ago I read on a newspaper that the circumference of the earth is about 43.000 km….and I used to drive 100.000 km each year by car for my job….to sell things I didn’t care for a job I didn’t like…. Then I realize I had to change it.
Our company is called AZIENDA AGRICOLA POSTUMAN di Marinello Riccardo.
Postuman is the name of the village where the main vineyard is.
This place is 480 meter above sea level and here live 43 persons….all of them are winemakers.
In the village of Postuman there is no bar, no shops, phone never works and probably internet fiber will never arrived….
We are a farm.
Our farm produces mostly grapes, olive, olive oil, wheat, barley, barley malt, peas …. And also wine.
All the vineyard were property of my family, that I inherited and improved.
The wine is made exclusively by our domain’s grapes.
We want to make wine remaining a farm who produce many other product…..not only wine.
Our mission is to make “solo cose belle” (only good things).
For this reason every year we select some of the best grapes to make just one product each year.
And we usually produce just 3.000 bottle per year.
We manage almost 30 ha of vineyard, olives and arable land.
All our land is organic certified since 2012 and our inspection body is CCPB.
Our main office is in Mezzane di Sotto (Vr) in the village called POSTUMAN.
The cultivar of grapes we take care are both black and white.
BLACK GRAPES : Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Croatina, Merlot Khorus, Merlot, Cabernet Carmenere and Ancellotta
WHITE GRAPES: Glera and Pinot Grigio
Our team is made of 3-4 persons and for this reason each of us is supposed to do different jobs.
In December we start pruning and we are usually finished for Easter.
When branches begin to shoot we start pulling away grass under the vines with mechanical equipments.
We work with 5 tractors that are placed in different places close to each vineyard.
Then we begin with the phytosanitary treatments that are insispired by the principals of organic defense (cupper and sulphur).
Moreover we add some treatment of biodinamic (500k e 501) e agro omeopatic agriculture.
For almost 10 years we have practiced green manuring to balance the soil…. Now we are letting the grass grow.
We are renovating the old building in the village of Postuman to create our own cellar but the work is not finished yet …. The house were built in 1630 and it take lot of time to get municipal authorizations, permits, health authorizations…. Lot of money too….
For this reason we collaborate with another cellar, where we borrow a fermentation vat….This cellar is organic certified too.
Each wine we make is created with fermentation foot and without adding selected yeast.
Our wines are made by native yeasts and very low sulfur.
We don’t add chemical product and we respect organic certification regulation.
During the wintertime we pump the wine outside the building in a outdoor fermentation vat to clean it.
No white wines at the moment.
No orange wines at the moment.
No sparkling wines at the moment.
