The Upupa is a small farm that was born in 2018 in the hamlet of Monte San Pietro (BO) from the passion for the land and its products. We started by cultivating a small vineyard that was present on our land. We decided that this had to become our job, cultivate the land and produce one of the things we like most: wine. In recent years we have rented 3 hectares of vineyards, between the hills of Zola Predosa, Ponteronca and Savigno. Our vines are 20 to 50 years old, and are located at 100 m asl on predominantly clayey soils. We have studied and learned in the field, experimented in our small cellar, and we have treasured the advice and help of friends and colleagues who have been and will always be precious in our journey. The wines are produced exclusively with grapes grown in our vineyards in the Colli Bolognesi area. We cultivate our vines according to the organic method, but for now we are not certified.
