Pistis Sophia - David Seccia
Pistis Sophia is a family-run winery located in Ortona, Abruzzo.
The more than 6 hectares of land owned by vineyards from which its entire production comes, insist on a heterogeneous hilly territory, which alternates clayey and flat soils in the innermost areas with other sandy and steep ones close to the sea.
Driven by respect for its territory and the choice to minimize human intervention, it conducts its vineyards by applying a symbiotic type of agriculture, free of herbicides, desiccants, chemical fertilizers, synthetic, penetrating and systemic treatments.
The grapes are harvested manually and the processing in the cellar excludes any type of clarification, filtering and addition of external nutrients that can alter the natural balance and
organic wines.
The production of the winery is divided into three product lines: the homonymous one dedicated to native vines and grapes vinified mainly in purity, another called "Grade 51" which houses
inside three young wines with a simpler structure, and finally "Agricultural Laboratory 16", an experimental line that contains the fruit of the continuous and tireless research carried out by the cellar.
