Our first handful of vines (Pinot Blanc and Blauer Zweigelt) were planted in 2017 on a beautiful piece of land at the lake Bauernsee in Dobbrikow - a small village quite close to Berlin and Potsdam.
Since 2020 we've invested with the help of our crowdfunding Platform (Baumgutschein-Brandenburg.de) heavily in new vineyards in and around Dobbrikow. In addition we've 'inherited' an older small vineyard nearby.
Now we've grown to close to 0.5 hectars in production, populated with a mix of grape varieties. On the contrary to the typical winemakers in Germany we think that the crazier the mix of grape varietes...the better. We produce cuvées (grapes fermented together). Around 60% new grape varieties (such as Souvignier Gris, Cabernet Blanc and others), 40% regular types (Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and others).
All vineyards are designed as non monoculture fields. A small herd of sheeps and a bigger herd of horses are providing us with organic fertilizer.
The vinery is located next to our wedding venue Haus am Bauernsee and we share premises for wine events. We do manage our vineyard biodynamically, though we do not have any certifications yet. Our vines have never seen any pesticides, not even sulfur/copper.
In cellar, the fermentation are spontaneous, no interventions, no sulfur. We use steal tank and a bit of wood barrels (so far only for the red wine). One wine has done its fermentation in the 1000l Georgian clay vessel (Qvevri) another wine has seen some contact with local pine wood.
