Domaine les Indigènes - Sandrine & Manu Thuret
Established in 2023, first vintage in 2024. Micro-estate: 1.8 hectares in 2023/2024, then 2.3 hectares in 2024/2025
We are both retraining. I am working full-time, and Manu is present during peak periods.
Our plots are located in Faye-d'Anjou and Passavant-sur-Layon, not far from the winery. We have 50 ares of Chenin and 80 ares of Grolleau, 50 ares of Gamay Chaudenay and 50 ares of Cabernet Franc.
Next year we will also have Pineau d'Aunis. Everything is certified organic (top-tier), but since the application for certification was submitted in 2025, we are considered to be in conversion. We will therefore be certified in two years. The plots in Faye are not tilled. The grass is only mowed. In Passavant, the soils are worked once a year. We only intervene in cases of severe disease risk: high risk of downy mildew and powdery mildew.
In winemaking, no intervention is required (indigenous yeasts, unfiltered, unfined, etc.). A small amount of sulfite will be added if necessary (2 g/hl only if needed).
For our first vintage, we bottled two still wine cuvées (one Chenin, CHENIN, and one Gamay Chaudenay made using direct pressing and infusion of destemmed Grolleau, GAMAY-GROLLEAU). We are in the VDF category.
