Alexis Quelqueger
I am a micro-winemaker (40 ares of vines) in Alsace, 30 minutes from Strasbourg. My grandparents were farmers, and there were vines for family consumption. In 2013, my father let me take over the vines, the winemaking, and the marketing. All of this alongside my main business as a wine merchant.
The vines are worked under the row and mowed between the rows, no herbicides, insecticides or systemic products, only sulfur and copper used as sparingly as possible.
I am not certified because of the cost of the label relative to the area cultivated.
Hand-harvested, light maceration for the whites, longer for the reds.
Vertical wooden press, indigenous yeasts, minimum aging 1 year, stainless steel tank and barrel, unfiltered, bottled by gravity with a spout filler.
No added sulfites except in cases of major deviation.
