Thomas Popy

Thomas Popy works in the small village of Mesnay, near Arbois, where he has also lived with his family for several years. He previously worked in Beaujolais, notably with Michel Guignier, Jean-Claude Lapalu and Julie Balagny, where he learned to make wine using natural methods. Since settling in the Jura, he has notably worked with Emmanuel Houillon and Céline and Steve Gormally in the Dolomies. Thomas currently only farms 1.8 hectares, the majority of which is in the place called "Sous la Roche Maldru". The goal is to expand to about three hectares and be content with that. The wines are aged in the small family cellar, first in vats, then in old barrels, without filtration or additives.
