Vivanterre is a natural wine produced in the Auvergne region by Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau, and founded by Rosie and Max Assoulin, with the support of renowned sommelier Cédric Nicaise. Made from organically and biodynamically grown grapes, vinified using natural processes and spared from fining, filtration, or the addition of sulfites, Vivanterre reflects the "Living Earth" from which it originates. Introduced by mutual friends, the Vivanterre team came together with the intention of creating delicious zero-zero natural wines, embracing sustainable practices. The current collaboration spans creative worlds, with a mix of wine experts and novices who have come together to create a wine that truly reflects shared perspectives. We hope you enjoy Vivanterre as much as we do.
Our white MSM displays a variety of citrus notes, including lemon and lemon zest, reminiscent of Meyer lemon. It also exhibits notes of honey and apple, with a full body typical of Melon de Bourgogne and a pronounced salinity. The ABV is 12.3%.
Our Pet-Nat is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sylvaner. The ABV is 12.5%.
Our Orange Contact SGS is a blend of Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, and Sauvignon Blanc. This cuvée is a flavorful macerated wine, with notes of black tea and kombucha. The Gewürztraminer contributes tropical fruit flavors, particularly lychee and white flowers, along with a spicy note. The ABV is 13.5%.
Our Vivanterre Gamay MVB is a new classic, 100% Beaujolais. It has a crisp texture and aromas of dark, spicy fruit. With an ABV of 13%, it's best enjoyed slightly chilled. A very versatile red wine, it pairs well with meat and a cheese board to start a meal, but is also excellent with a heartier fish dish and grilled vegetables. Our Orange Contact SGS goes well with salads and many starters, and also complements grilled chicken or pork.
Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau are the pioneering winemakers of Domaine La Bohème, located in the village of Saint-Georges-sur-Allier in the Auvergne region. Producing as little as a single barrel per year on a terroir renowned for its unique volcanic soil and century-old vines, Domaine La Bohème has achieved cult status within the independent wine community in France and beyond. Having a sulfur intolerance, Bouju crafts all his wines without any additives, with a curious and experimental approach.
Co-founders of Vivanterre, Rosie and Max Assoulin spent the last few years running the Rosie Assoulin clothing brand before venturing into the world of natural wine. Prior to founding Vivanterre, Rosie made a name for herself as an acclaimed womenswear designer, launching her own line in 2013 to great success. Her collections earned her the CFDA Emerging Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2015 and were celebrated for capturing the wonderful sights, sounds, and feelings of life through her designs. Alongside her was her husband and business partner, Max Assoulin, CEO of the brand since its inception.
Vivanterre is produced under the direction of renowned sommelier Cédric Nicaise. Born into a family of scientists and wine collectors, he spent the last decade honing his dining room experience at top restaurants across New York City before becoming the brand's Director of Wines. He first became interested in wine as a Bar Manager and eventually as a Sommelier at Aureole. Following his time there, he joined the wine team at Eleven Madison Park as a sommelier in 2012. Since then, he has been a key contributor to the ongoing development of the wine program and staff training, first being promoted to Director of Wines in the spring of 2015 and then to Director of Operations in the spring of 2021.
