Weingut Ploder Rosenberg

Deeply rooted on the Rosenberg in the Styrian Volcanic Land, Ploder-Rosenberg is evolving. Maria and Alfred Ploder, together with son Manuel & a dedicated team, have established their winery as a biodynamic total work of art.

Today, the third generation, consisting of Manuel Ploder & Selina Weratschnig, is already setting the tone. Natural wines are produced in various lines and in harmony with nature. Characteristic of all the wines are different lengths of development time on the mash as well as plenty of time for self-development. In addition to FUNDAMENTAL wines, there are now also site wines under the LINEA brand, as well as selected essences from the AMPHORE; wines as a symbol, with character and effect of the four elements.

Life is at the centre of our work. Our (wine) gardens are alive, rooted deep in revitalised soils. Biodiversity, diversity of varieties, sustainability; early on we decided on the gentlest form of viticulture - biodynamic (Demeter) work. In addition to vines, our gardens feature a wide variety of trees, shrubs and herbs, as well as space for permaculture elements like, rock piles, deadwood islands and bird nesting boxes. The focus on sustainable grape varieties, fungus-resistant vines (PIWIs), closes the circle. We preserve the living through gentle processing.

For us, minimalism in the cellar means accompanying instead of excessive intervention. Free from unnecessary interventions and additives, our wines are allowed to develop according to their character in steel, wood and clay. More and more wine connoisseurs are longing for the added value of enjoyment and digestibility that natural wines offer. Ploder - Rosenberg strives for holistic biodynamic agriculture in a way that corresponds to a world worth loving & living in.
