Today, Roman Strohschneider brings a fresh approach with his focus on crafting low-intervention wines. As an independent project apart from the family estate, Roman minimizes intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar, allowing our wines to reach the glass in their purest form.
“My goal is to bring wines in their most authentic, untreated way into your glasses.” — Roman Strohschneider
For me, low-intervention winemaking means carefully guiding the wine rather than controlling it. The grapes are hand-picked to ensure only the healthiest and highest-quality fruit is selected. My low-intervention wines are fermented exclusively with natural yeasts, avoid fining and filtration, and keep sulfur levels to a minimum (less than 30 mg/l total). In the vineyard, we work hand in hand with nature, using organic fertilizers like sheep, cattle, and chicken manure from local farms, while fostering biodiversity.
