Sentimental - Simonyans Family

Sentimental is a small natural wine project by Simonyans Family LLC, based in Aghdzk, Aragatsotn (Armenia, ~1100–1200 m elevation).
We work with Voskehat, Kangun, Muscat, and Karmrahyut.

Adhering to the ancient Armenian winemaking tradition, we started producing natural wines in small quantities in 2020.
Now it’s true that sentimental words are not spoken, but how to live without sentiment in this world?
This idea is at the heart of what we do — we put care, feeling, and attention into every wine.
With time and positive feedback, we continue to grow step by step, investing love and warmth in each bottle.

We do not own vineyards yet. Instead, we work closely with a small group of trusted family growers in Aragatsotn and, for Areni, in Aghavnadzor (Vayots Dzor).
All grapes are hand-harvested in small crates and sorted at the vineyard.

Vineyard & cellar practices

• No irrigation (dry-farmed vineyards)
• Manual vineyard work with partner growers
• 100% spontaneous fermentation (indigenous yeasts)
• Skin contact: 1–2 weeks for amber wines
• Carbonic maceration for Carbo cuvées (red and amber)
• Vessels: stainless steel; one cuvée aged 9 months in traditional Armenian karas (clay amphora)
• Additives: none
• Fining: none
• Filtration: none (any future filtration will be disclosed per wine)
• Temperature control: passive (underground cellar, 15–22 °C)
• Sulphites: mostly zero added; small doses in a few wines at bottling only (specified per wine)
