Thomas Harteneck and his team have been producing biodynamic wines since 1997. We are a small Demeter winery in the south of Baden, close to the border with France and Switzerland, and we are going back to our roots and natural originality. In the vineyard we use strong natural preparations to support our vines in their natural strength and to vitalise the soil. The greening of our vine rows with a variety of herbs and flowering plants ensures a protected habitat for small animals and insects. Our small flock of Ouessant sheep helps us with the work. The complexity that nature offers us is reflected in our wines.
Our natural and orange wines are hand-picked and fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts. They are not fined, not filtered and receive no or very little added sulphur. We allow the wines time for natural maturation on the yeast so that they can develop their individual character. They mature in stainless steel tanks or in small wooden barrels. Each bottle is unique. All wines are declared as Badischer Landwein.
