Domaine ACHARD-VINCENT is one of the pioneers of organic farming because, in 1968, the grandfather started organic using the Lemaire-Bouchet method. Then we had to hear the arrival of Jean-Pierre to follow the specifications for organic wines from Nature et Progrès from 1982 to 2009. Thomas ACHARD, the winegrowers, has now been following a DEMETER certified biodynamic production method since 2005. The estate is labeled "Vignerons Indépendants": all our wines are entirely made in our cellar with our own grapes according to DEMETER's specifications for biodynamic wines. We are fully autonomous (harvest, vinification, bottling, labeling and sale in the cellar). "Organic pioneers", the basis of our Organic Agriculture is organic manure: to best nourish the soil that will nourish the vine. For this, we bring composted organic matter, green manure that we bury in the ground after mowing. We are very demanding on the maintenance of our vines by favoring a maximum of labor for pruning, hoeing, lifting, suckering, green harvest in order to control the yield as close as possible to the harvest and optimize the quality of the grape. We keep every second row naturally grassed in order to preserve as much as possible the diversity that will preserve the balance of fauna and flora in our vines. The only treatment products we use are copper salts and sulfur flower associated with clay and various herbal infusions to optimize the natural defenses of the vine. The harvest is entirely manual. The grapes are carefully picked and sorted before being placed in "pallox" boxes.
