The Lomtadze family has been dealing with wine making and viticulture since 1950s in the village of Khvanchkara. Wine-making is a family tradition. The Lomtadze family produces wines “Khvanchkara”, “Alexandrouli” and “Tetra” from their own vineyard. The quality begins in vineyard and the soil is biologically fertilized. Different species of grapes are cultivated in the vineyard: “Alexandrouli”, “Mujuretuli” and “Tsulukidze’s Tetra”. The village Khvanchkara is situated on the right bank of the river Rioni. The sun contributes to the high sweetness and quality of the grapes. Picked grapes are pressed. In this way the best wines “Khvanchkara”, “Qvevri Alexandrouli”and “Tetra” are made. The wines do not contain any additives. The Lomtadze family wine “Kvanchkara” won a silver medal at the Wine and alcohol drinks exhibition in 2017. Its qvevri wine ,, Alexandrouli” was awarded with a gold medal at the International qvevri wine competition 2021. This success led to the increase of the wine production.
