Having discovered the world of wine in 2010, the date of our first harvest at Hervé Villemade in Cheverny, it is here that our passion for natural wine began.
We both followed different paths: a bistro on the island of Groix and parkabout facilities for Sébastien and work as a youth leader for Corentin. As our passion for wine caught up with us, we decided to take a wine diploma at the Amboise agricultural high school.
We have gained experience in several areas: Domaine Léonine (66) Jeff Coutelou (34) Julien Pineau (41) Noëlla Morantin (41) Vincent Carème (37) Thierry Puzelat (41) Hervé Villemade (41) Laurent Saillard (41). All this with the aim of continuing to train and make a living from this profession.
After these experiences, a lot of discussions and the realization of a common expectation, we decided to create Pouce-pied!! We found vines in January 2023, the cellar in June and we harvested our grapes in September. So we are newly installed! The winery is located in Châteauvieux (41400) at the southern tip of Loir et Cher. We are surrounded by clayey and stony terroirs with limestone subsoils.
We currently cultivate 2 hectares of vines made up of Sauvignon de Chenin and Menupineau. Part of the vines is located a stone's throw from the winery and the other is in St Julien de Chédon on the highest point of the village.
The objective is to gradually recover new plots around our winery.
We of course cultivate our vines organically. We make wine as a pair, continuously exchanging and combining our feelings to work on the wines in order to get the best from our respective experiences. We like to use several winemaking methods and several containers to make our wines more complex.
We want to vinify the wines naturally, without yeasting, fining or filtration. We use little or no inputs. The idea is of course to make living wines, so that they can be expressive and representative of their terroir. We also want to remain professional to present vintages without defects. We will remain focused on improving our wines vintage after vintage.
This year we are proud to present our first five vintages made from the grapes we grow but also from grapes purchased on the vine from winegrower friends who share our values.
