Young 37-year-old winemaker based in Meursault, Renaud Boyer claims to be a natural winemaker adept at sulfur-free. He cultivates 3 hectares of vines on the Côte de Beaune spread over the Burgundy, Beaune, Saint-Romain and Pulligny-Montrachet appellations. Renaud, who took over the vines from his uncle Thierry Guyot, a precursor of organic and biodynamic agriculture since 1986 in Burgundy, is quiet and does not seek notoriety. On the other hand, the path he has chosen is in the image of his cuvées, true and uncompromising. Uncompromising. This perfectly characterizes Renaud's work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. No synthetic product has the right to touch its grapes. No additives are added in the winery. Renaud produces true, pure, fair wines which are an exact reflection of their vintage. Sometimes it displeases narrow minds. In 2017, the appellation commission did not appreciate the atypical side of its wines from its magnificent historic plot of Saint Romain (vines over 80 years old!). Never mind, Renaud has changed his labels, which now feature a magnificent capital "S R", and has bottled his two cuvées in generic Burgundy.
