ALEZAN is a young field that started in 2013. The vineyards are located in Tournon-sur-Rhône and Etables, along the valley of the Doux, tributary of the Rhone coming from the central massif, in Ardèche. The domain is called the ALEZAN in tribute to our mares "SUSPENS" and "PALYNKA" who made possible this childhood dream of becoming a winemaker, by their work in performance for 6 years at other vine growers of the Rhone Valley. In the constant search for accessible exceptional terroirs, we have opted to re-plant vines around parcels already planted: they have in common to be in non-mechanized hillsides, isolated from other vines and crops. All the work is done by hand: tillage on the horse or winch and backpacks without fungicides or other products of synthesis. BIO certification in progress. 1.7 hectares in production, planting of 7 acres in 2019.  In the cellar, we want to let the work express itself in the vineyards and the terroir. The vinifications (first vinifications in 2016) are inspired by those practiced in our region traditionally: light punching and pumping over the reds, direct pressing on the whites. We try to find the most adapted farms for each vintage and each vintage to the extent of our means to accompany them at best. We work in indigenous yeasts, with no inputs except sulfur at very low doses only when really needed.
