La Quinte is the meeting between two enthusiasts, within an Alsatian wine estate. Pierrick, 34 years old, winemaker passionate about agroecology and natural wines. Matthieu, 35 years old, distiller in his artisanal distillery, solely intended for natural production from wild harvests.

Brought together by this passion, as well as other common interests such as music, and carried by the same generational energy, we have pooled our know-how around a Languedoc vineyard.

We admire this nature. Our experiences have shown us the importance of biodiversity, in our jobs and in our lives. It is essential to the balance of the landscape, its beauty and its longevity. In this balance, nature offers us intense olfactory and taste experiences that we wish to transmit through our wines and alcohols. The complementarity between wine production and the distillery will allow us to use all the “by-products” of the vine and wine in a circular economy system.

Winegrowers, before processing the grapes, are important players in the life of the soil. They are, like all farmers, peasants. Men of the land, of the land, who through their choices and practices reshape our plains and hills every year. We, in turn, wish to provide with our hands the outline of the landscape of tomorrow.

The vineyard is located between Haut-Languedoc and Minervois, on the Cazelles plateau. Old vines between 80 and 120 years old for the majority and a plot of around twenty years old, planted on two distinct terroirs: white and gray lacustrine limestones in the south and versicolor clays, silts and sandstones of the Assignan formation in the south. north.

The vine is cultivated in Organic Agriculture.

We take a particular interest in not working the soil thanks to agroecology techniques and we practice gentle pruning on Royat cups and cordons.

Yields are low (15hl/ha on average).

Copper is not used there and we try to reduce the doses of sulfur as much as possible thanks to alternatives of essential oils, macerations, and plant fermentations.

These practices are of great importance to us for the quality and stability of our wines.

The harvest is manual and the wines are without inputs: native yeasts and no added sulphites; in order to best express the terroir, the maturity of the grapes and its emotions.

The wines are packaged in Flûte Alsace format. The bottles are waxed with Alsatian beeswax, colored with natural pigments thanks to the custom work of an artisan friend.
