Incredible colour - rosehip pink and orange. Nose has earthy red fruits, grapefruit, dried flowers, violets, tar, tea and sweet plummy notes which just about distinguish it from great nebbiolo. It also has wafts of some savoury and umami. Miso, seaweed and dried mushrooms. Palate is light and refreshing, could be a touch more acidic but is balanced.Tannins emerge after some time - tastes of rich cherry, raspberry and plum. Really nice dark flavours in the finish. This is a beautiful wine.
