Mine de Vin was born from the will of my father-in-law (Didier; who replanted a first plot in 2004 on the very spot where his grandfather's was located) and from an encounter: I am Olivier, I grew up on the family wine estate in Puy-L'Evêque in the heart of the Cahors appellation. After 16 years of another professional life, I wanted to rediscover my roots and the culture of this magical vine: The Vine. In 2018, I officially took over "this little vineyard for great pleasure". It is a "garden" vineyard of 1.5 ha where several grape varieties flourish: classic, native and forgotten. On a south-west facing schist hillside where coal is naturally present in places. This singular terroir reminds us that the vine and the wine are also linked to 150 years of coal and industrial exploitation in the Decazevillois basin. The vines are managed with great attention to respect for the vines, the soil and biodiversity. Manual work and on foot are preferred, passages by tractor are reduced to a minimum. Manual harvest, in boxes. The wines are also made in an artisanal way with this desire "to let the grapes express themselves" (use only low-dose sulphites), ...no filtration, generally no maturing:...the fruit... on its terroir (which makes it possible to offer a few “never drunk!” cuvées with terroir/varietal pairs that protect against classicism).
