It is located 10 minutes north of Ancenis in the 44, in the town of Maumusson in the Vallons de l'Erdre. The vast majority of plots are isolated in lush greenery, preserved from any surrounding chemistry and grow on very different soils, which we strive to interpret as naturally as possible through our wines.
Facing south or southwest, the soils on which our vines grow are very varied. So many exciting and unique geological variations and components that give each vintage its personality. The vines are aged from 2 to 100 years, with an average of 50 years, growing on clay-limestone, schisto-sandstone aeolian silt or even on gneiss alterations. Our work is strongly inspired by biodynamics.
Our wines are called “natural”. All our vintages are “Vin de France”. Without weedkiller, partially grassed, scraped, without fertilizer or synthetic pesticide, our vineyard is cultivated. Maximum respect for lunar cycles, practice of biodynamics (500 P and 501) on certain plots and herbal medicine (nettle, fern and comfrey manure, horsetail decoction) throughout the vineyard. Use of sulfur and copper at a minimum (around 1.2 kg of copper per hectare per year).
The harvest is manual with sorting directly in the vineyard, harvested at full maturity in 20 kg boxes. Yields are around 25hl per hectare on average, mainly due to the short pruning and relatively high age of the vines.
Vinification: With little intervention, it is carried out in a temperature-regulated cellar, adjacent to our accommodation. Fermentations with native yeasts. No added input. Bottling by gravity on a descending moon, if possible on a fruit day, manual capping with DIAM corks or stainless steel crown caps for sparkling wines.
We have a small trailer that we rent, for wine tourism at home near our Maumusson vineyards. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
