7.0 / $18 / Scuola di Vino / biodynamic / Still wine, but all three varietals in this blend are known for producing either sparkling or frizzante wines. Lambrusco is often made sweet, but this very dry. So, not what you would expect based on the varietals. This a really nice wine for the price. I'd prolly rate it higher, but dark reds aren't my thing right now and my ratings reflect my personal preference. I'm not knowledgeable enough to rate objectively. It is a very dark wine. Masking tape smell, but earthy, blackberry taste with just a hint of herbaceous notes. Very different tasting experience if you take a deep smell versus just drinking. Nicely chewy tannins with just the smallest bit of grip on the back end. Slightly rough, but for the price... Nice balanced acidity too. It's a nicely structured wine in this price range. Im using a couple glasses of this to braise a beef shank as i write this. I think it will be a perfect braising liquid if i get the rest right. I feel like folks that like dark reds might really like this. It came in a CSA box. I'm happy with it. 😊
