Podere Sassi is a beautiful land that is placed in a fortunate position over the surrounding valleys of the southern Sabina. It’s a small biologic agricultural holding that is characterized by a pure, strong and intransigent approach, devoted to a zero intervention policy over all that is nature’s doing, superior to any doing of mankind. There is no place for pesticides and every other intervention that doesn’t fully embrace our philosophy. A great passion for the real wine, one with a strong character and personality, has brought to a collaboration with Danilo Marcucci for the creation of wines which can represent the ground they were born in, the same ground that is the DNA of the Podere’s properties. We have planted 3 hectares of local vines 300mt above sea level. In the winery the wine is made without any added yeast or temperature control, no added sulphites or filtration of any kind. In this area of the Sabina, at the border with the Umbria region, the Ciliegiolo grapes has its historically legitimate habitat, while the Sangiovese and Montepulciano give life to a structured red wine. The Lazio Malvasia and Trebbiano Giallo are the base of the white wine.
