We are two young farmers, Kristina and Matej. With the help of our parents Just and Danila we accepted a challenge: to offer those who come to visit us in Sales, on the Trieste Karst, a little bit of our territory, our flavors and our history. Grandparents, skilled farmers, taught us to take care of the land. Our work is concentrated in the vineyard, in contact with healthy and ripe grapes, and in the family farm. The Skerlj farm is located in Sales (Salež), a hamlet of just 300 inhabitants in the Trieste Karst. It is an ancient village, which dates back to the Iron Age, where villages were built in elevated positions and fortified with walls. In every season of the year, these places have a particular charm. We work by hand in the vineyard and pay careful attention to the vineyard and grapes. Malvasia, Vitovska and Terrano: three wines, cradled for two years in oak barrels, in a cellar dug into the stone, in a natural environment at constant temperature and humidity. Bottling without filtration, a direct and no frills passage, from the vineyard to the bottle.

Siamo due giovani agricoltori, Kristina e Matej. Con l’aiuto dei nostri genitori Just e Danila abbiamo accettato una sfida: offrire a chi ci viene a trovare a Sales, sul Carso triestino, un po’ del nostro territorio, dei nostri sapori e della nostra storia.

I nonni, abili agricoltori, ci hanno insegnato a curare la terra. Il nostro lavoro si concentra nella vigna, a contatto con uve sane e mature, e nell’agriturismo di famiglia.

L’azienda agricola Skerlj si trova a Sales (Salež), frazione di appena 300 abitanti del Carso triestino. È un borgo antico, che risale all’età del ferro, in cui i villaggi venivano costruiti in posizione elevate e fortificati con mura.

In ogni stagione dell’anno, questi luoghi hanno un fascino particolare.

Lavoriamo a mano in vigna e prestiamo un’attenta cura al vigneto e all’uva.

Malvasia, Vitovska e Terrano: tre vini, cullati per due anni in botti di rovere, in una cantina scavata nella pietra, in un ambiente naturale a temperatura e umidità costanti. Imbottigliamento senza filtrazione, un passaggio diretto e senza fronzoli, dal vigneto alla bottiglia.
