The Noades is a domain created by a passionate couple - Jacky and Veronique. Nestled in the small village of Argentay made of old stones and cellars dug in the tufa, their vines enjoy the noble and rich soil of Puy Notre Dame between the vineyards of Anjou and Saumur. Since its creation in 2002, the estate has evolved over the course of their encounters and their journeys towards the choice of an organic viticulture AB, an approach accentuated by the obtaining of the label Nature & t progress. For these lovers of the human, being a winemaker is more than a job: it is a sharing of know-how, an art, a passion. It is in this favorable context that you will be able to taste the wines of Noades. Soils are plowed or left in grass according to the climate of the year and the type of wine that we want to obtain in each of our plots. Tillage affects the quality and yield of grapes. Working in organic farming helps maintain and improve soil fertility. We choose small yields and a manual harvest for a better expression of the wine according to its terroir. The vines are armed to fight against diseases, according to their needs, with a contribution of sulfur and copper. They are also fortified by spraying homemade herbal tea with nettle and horsetail, which will serve as "vitamin C". To make a decoction, the plant parts are dried and placed in cold water. The mixture is boiled and maintained at temperature for a variable period, usually fifteen minutes, then it cools before being filtered, using a strainer. This decoction will then be sprayed on the vines. In winter, we apply a vermicompost in our vineyards. This fertilizer is the result of the degradation of essentially equine manure by specific worms (Eisenia Foetida). Able to devour body weight each day, worms break down this fresh organic matter for several months. Composed especially of proteins and other microorganisms, the digestive tract of the worm improves and sanitizes the elements that pass through it, while making them directly assimilable.
