The Domaine was founded in 1987 and has grown over the years. Starting from 1.5 hectares, it is now made up of multiple small plots on hillsides (17 in total!), over an area of 8.5 hectares, on appellations such as Moulin à Vent, Beaujolais Villages red and white, but also Wines of France. The estate has been officially certified organic since 2002 and has been certified BIODYNAMIC by Demeter since 2018 and Vin Méthode Nature since the creation of the union for the defense of natural wines. Bruno, who takes over from the 6th generation of winegrowers in his family, was joined in 1989 by Isabelle. In 1999, Bruno was seriously poisoned by an insecticide and there they both decided to stop using synthetic chemicals in the vines. The transition to organic is brutal but vital. Bruno relearns his trade. He even says he has changed. Plowing, mowing the grass, pickaxe, treatment with herbal teas. Eco-grazing has been in place for 1 year with a herd of sheep. We listen, we feel, we act according to the needs of the vine. Life is slowly returning to our plots. It feels good... There are flowers of all colors, aromatic herbs, it smells good, the ground has become loose and welcoming. Yields are rather low but the grapes are beautiful. We make the wines we love. Of course, the work is more difficult. We spend more time there. But it's our choice. Manual harvest, maceration in whole bunches in vats, native yeasts, without sulphur. Slow pressing. Aging in vats. Bottling without filtration. We work on finesse, length, and elegance and not on extraction.
