Jean-Pierre Monier took over in 1976 the family domain in polycultures of which 5 hectares were dedicated to the vines. The grapes harvested were intended for the cooperative cellar of Saint-Désirat. In the course of the 1990s, after the arrival of an advisor in biodynamic agriculture at the cooperative, he was convinced with other winegrowers that a new path opened up to him. Having already given up the dairy activity for 10 years, he decided in 1996 to convert 7 hectares to organic farming and to develop his own Saint-Joseph. A follower of manual labor and small yields, he transformed his old barn into a cellar, his barn into a winery and the stable into a shed for his stocks. Quickly switched to biodynamics, the farm was certified Biodyvin in 2006. In 2008, sharing the same philosophy of working in the vineyard, he decided to join forces with Philippe Perréol to expand their biodynamic production from a vineyard of just under 12 hectares located in the Saint-Joseph et Vins appellation. of Pays Collines Rhodaniennes. From then on, breeding and marketing go hand in hand and the wines bear the double name Monnier-Perréol.
