Domaine Léandre-Chevalier - DLC - L'Homme-Cheval
In 1985, Dominique Léandre-Chevalier took over the winery. His father died in a tragic accident in the wine press.
At that time, the winery had 12 hectares of acreage, which would have required a lot of mechanical work. However, this does not correspond to Dominique's idea of a good job. After intensive consideration, he decided to keep and manage only 10% of the winery.
In 1990 he worked just 1.2ha exactly as he had learned from his father and even taking into account the teachings of his grandparents.
For more than 20 years now, he has been questioning everything, always with the aim of improving quality and providing the best possible support for nature.
Today he has 3 hectares to work on, which he has carefully chosen from the vineyards that have remained in the family. He now cherishes and cares for it with the passion of a gardener, supported by his horse, his faithful companion.

The German word "Weingärtner" reflects the deeper meaning of my work. I'm a gardener! Even my ancestors were winegrowers and vineyard owners. The meaning of my family name refers to this: the "horse man". Throughout the year, my job is to follow nature's work with care and caution, intervening only when absolutely necessary. And every new vintage has its own character for me: unique, authentic and full of character.
